Stormwater Management

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) has issued new Stormwater Management Regulations (SMR) set to take effect in May 2010. MACo and MML have cited concerns with the implementation of the regulations, especially redevelopment. The MACo Board of Directors met with MDE Secretary Shari Wilson in the fall of 2009 and she acknowledged MACo's concerns in a letter to MACo President David Craig.

The Growth Task Force held a Stormwater Management Summit January 15, 2010 and the House Environmental Matters Committee held a briefing on January 26. MACo participated at both events. Visit our blog, Conduit Street, for news and more information on Stormwater Management.
